You and your book have changed my life. I’m a long distance runner who has been fueling for a very long time. I’m in my late 40s, and had been gaining weight, this caused me to try and restrict my calories, which then led to poor performance and more weight gain. I kept trying to restrict myself more and more and was in this terrible place fighting with myself which impacted my ability to run, gain weight, and made me miserable. And then…. I heard a podcast where you were interviewed. I bought your book. Read it front to back. Upped my calories, stopped fearing carbohydrates ,and like magic I was back to running, I lost 8 pounds, all while eating more than I was before. I started to actually enjoy my food. I honestly can’t thank you enough.
One of the many things I love in your book is the easy recipes at the back. I would have never thought to make those meals like the skillet lasagna and African stew – I wouldn’t have known how balanced they were while at the same time tasty and easy to make.
Thank you again, I tell every runner I know to buy your book. I will be forever grateful to you for helping me.
